History Electro-Mechanical Specialties was first founded in Sanford, NC in May of 1990. In 2002 EMS merged with Meikle Automation in Canada. Meikle closed in 2010 and Mertek Solutions started with the same core EMS and Meikle persons. Mertek and EMS are partners working together to help manufacturing companies with solutions. EMS specialize in contract manufacturing and product development. EMS proudly works with high qualities of customer service. Customer service was and is the foundation of EMS Inc.
